Hi. Just to say thanks to Dan who sorted me out at the weekend. My ST220 is a great car and I had a lot of fun and enjoyment driving it back home. Its nice to see a dealership who welcome customers from anywhere. Pity not all Ford dealerships were like Archers i.e. have the cars in stock and don't expect you to purchase before a test drive. We have just bought our third car from Archers of Ashby (this time a Mondeo Ghia X Estate - with lots of toys!) and once again it was a most pleasant, stress-free and satisfying experience (which is why we keep coming back).

For us, buying a Ford Direct car makes a lot of sense - and the best place to buy is Archers.  For a start, you actually have the cars - they are not just images and text on a computer screen - and there are various high-specs to choose from, including "all the toys one could want" versions.  Then you and your staff make the whole buying experience relaxed and friendly and yet informative. It is wonderful to be able to have as long a test drive as we want - in the actual car and without any high-pressure sales hype. The cars are keenly priced and you always offer a very fair trade in price - none of that pseudo haggling - I just can't tell you what a difference that makes.  All round, a very comfortable buying experience - which is why we keep buying.

A word of praise is due to Hannah Garner.  I know she is relatively new but she has already picked up the "Archers way".

More praise is due to the valeters - the car was prepared to an immaculate standard - as good as, if not better than, any brand new car we have bought.

Finally - the car is great.

Just a few words as promised. Not everyone would feel comfortable about buying a car on the internet, from the first contact with Liam your salesman the whole process went as sweet as a nut, when I arrived to pick up my new ST Focus I was immediately took through to the workshop to view my new car, the standard of presentation was the best I have seen, a pat ! on the back for the two valaters who were hard at it on the Saturday morning. My son in law and I were treated to a cup of tea and we then went through the paper work with Beverly who was very charming and easygoing, no pressure at all and a great conversationalist, although I my self love to talk.......! All in all a very good experience, larger main dealers beware I will gladly travel the 200mls again to purchase a new Ford, well done to everyone at Archers, a breath of fresh air in this take your money and forget about you/couldn't care less world.

Hi Archers Of Ashby, I have recently bought a Mondeo ST220 from yourselves and I felt the need to offer some feedback. I am yet to find a car dealership with such a positive and helpful out look on selling cars, you not only offered an acceptable part exchange on my Signum but you also sold the ST220 at a good price, and the help I received when the Signum was dented just before I was due to exchange was second to none. Liam is a great guy and helpful to the end. I collected the car On Saturday to find it was immaculate, if I could find a fault and it is a very small one, I found a little dust in between the gear lever cowl and trim (I am Joking of course) and the whole deal only took 10 days including cherished number plate transfer. After doing my homework & finding Archers via the Ford Direct website I searched for my new Mondeo TDCi Estate. Archers had the one for me, I contacted Charles Archer via e-mail & phone and always got a courteous reply. After agreeing to hold the vehicle for me so I could view & test drive it, I travelled 120 miles a few days later. On my arrival! I was greeted given a cuppa & was left to view & drive the car at my leisure, I so impressed with their 'customer comes first' attitude and Liam's knowledge of the car range, I bought the Mondeo that day. On my return home I discovered that I did not have the relevant Audio guide, so I contacted Charles again (via e-mail) and the book arrived by post the next day. That's what I call service. The 240 mile round trip was well worth it. Thanks Archers, I wish all were like you.

I have just purchased a 54 reg Ford Mondeo ST Estate 2.2TDCi from yourselves and must say thank you for the prompt and friendly service that i received. I have to admit to being initially sceptical re car buying on the internet, however after the process was explained to me by Liam Hebberd your sales advisor, i felt more at ease....i was initially drawn to your website due to the quality of your photos and detailed description of your cars and must say that it is a pleasure to actually see clear, high definition photos of the actual car advertised......i paid a deposit of £300 and was told that the car was now secured from Ford and that no one else could buy the car....this was excellent as the model and spec that i had managed to buy were few and far between..... i have not mentioned that i live in Glasgow and that i had not even seen the car as it had been sourced from Ford Direct...... all correspondence from archers was prompt and accurate and i was kept up to date at all times with the progress of my car....... on arrival at Archers after a 5 hour drive from Glasgow (very early start) i was met by Liam at 11am on Sunday morning....my car was sitting ready and was immaculate.....i was offered a refreshment and then completed the paperwork which all went smoothly....business was completed and i was back on the road home within 45 minutes which i think was superb service....all in all i could not recommend archers highly enough....very competitive trade in price at onset of discussions competitive price of purchase vehicle and prompt honest service.....i have now had my car 1 week and am delighted with my choice........well done Archers, you have restored my faith in car dealers and i will definitely consider you next time if i buy another Ford....many thanks.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the efficient and friendly way that my purchase of the above vehicle was conducted.  Everything was ready as promised, and you and your staff made me feel that I, as a customer, was important to you.  Yes, I know that without customers you cannot function – but this does not seem to matter to some car dealers – and I have visited a few in my 59 years.  I jokingly said that a bird had messed over my new car – it was gone when I came to drive away.  I could not work out the seat adjustment – the gentleman on your service desk took me through it with a smile – and did not make me feel like the idiot that I was.  The car – wonderful – everything and more than I wanted or expected.   

My only problem was when I had a company attend to fit a ‘Bluetooth’ hands free. Even with all their tools (and it is a National Company) they were unable to remove the radio to fit the hands free to the car speakers.  This is not really a problem – if they cannot get it out – neither will the villains if they smash a window and try. (my company has a small car park – we have to move our vehicles out before the next shift arrives – I have lost two radios in the last five years.)  A speaker for the hands free was fitted under the glove box – and I am delighted.  Again, my thanks to you and your staff.  I intend to keep the car for four years, at which point I intend to retire.  I will then have no hesitation in returning for, what could be, my last car. I am afraid that you will not make a fortune out of me – but I hope that your Company flourishes for many years to come.

I’m a regular internet user living 150 miles from Archers and have just had a first class experience in buying unseen a low mileage Mondeo Ghia X Auto.  Two major reasons have contributed to my total satisfaction and pleasure in dealing with Charles Archer and his excellent company.

I can unreservedly recommend Archers to anyone wishing to buy a car unseen as I have or, better still, by means of personal contact as I am sure most will do.

On our initial 250 mile round trip (which took 8.5 hrs in total - due to several major incidents on the M6 that day) can we say it was worth it, when we did eventually arrive we found the vehicle to be exactly as described on the internet, if not better, and Charles had the vehicle all ready for a test drive as promised, despite us being so late in the day.

We were so impressed with the vehicle, we realised that it wouldn't be around for long and immediately left a deposit.

Two weeks later and another long distance trip from Blackpool we arrived to collect our vehicle and again everything was ready and all the staff were courteous, made us feel welcome, made us a coffee (which was just what we needed after our journey) and Beverley had everything ready, again as promised, which enabled us to complete the sale with no hitches.

Thank you for sorting out the set of car mats and arranging for the car to be all ready and filled with petrol, so that we could head straight home, we know that these were only very minor things - but NOT something our local Ford dealer would have done, and it's small details like this, that you remember and appreciate and then pass on the good word to your friends.

Thanks to all the team, especially Charles and Beverley, and we hope to be customers again in the future, as traveling those extra miles was definitely worth it for us.

Thank-you for your recent letter regarding servicing our Mondeo R947 TEW. We have in fact already had it serviced by our local Ford agents, Edward Bros in Salisbury earlier this month and despite a little wear to some front bushes & general Servicing parts we have had no trouble at all with the car.

At the beginning of this year, I began looking to replace my car – a 1994 Ford Mondeo 2.0i Ghia. Whilst shopping in Sainsbury's I picked up a free motoring advertising magazine, with an advert for your garage in.  Perusing this advert later that night, you were listing several cars that fitted what I had in mind – namely a Mondeo Ghia X V6, approx 1-2 years old.

A few days later, on a Saturday afternoon, I visited your garage and ended up speaking to Alan Willett about a particular car I was interested in.  He asked me if I wanted to take the car out for a test drive, to which I basically said yes, but I didn’t want to waste his time as I wasn’t looking to buy the car that day.  I was assured this was not a problem at all and he went off to fetch the keys.

When he returned, handed me the keys and said “Away you go !” , I was more than a little surprised that he would not be coming with me.  I told him this and he said that they didn’t go with people as a rule, preferring to let them make up their mind without a salesman next to them.  This was a new experience for me and much appreciated.

Returning from my test drive I returned the keys, thanked him for his time and said that I was definitely interested and would return later that week with my father, for a 98R than the 98S one as driven previously.

Again we took the this car out for a drive and I made the decision to purchase it – it being all I wanted and more.  Together with the part-exchange price previously agreed, the price of the car and the benefits of the Ford Direct warranty scheme this seemed an excellent purchase.

I collected the car on the 1st February and am indeed very happy with it.  During the ensuing week, I became aware of a few problems – two minor and one more serious – an ineffective washer spray, a low coolant sensor that was prone to false alarms and brake judder under braking from high speed.  I booked the car in for these things to be looked at a week later.

Last Tuesday, 15th February, I returned it to your garage for these matters to be looked at and waited for them to be done.  Alan came to me an  hour or so later and informed me that the washer and sensor had been sorted and agreed with my diagnosis of warped brake discs and that they were currently replacing the discs and pads free of charge.

I was more than aware that the warranty did not cover brake friction surfaces and this to me represents truly excellent after-sales service.

I write to you to congratulate Alan and your dealership on what I consider to be service above and beyond what I would ever have expected of you from my initial test-drive through purchase, to after-sales.  I am delighted with may car and whilst I do not expect to encounter any significant problems, I am inspired from my experiences so far that they would be dealt with more than ably by you.

I find myself writing many letters these days, but precious few of this type and it makes a pleasant change to do so.  When my father possibly looks for a car to replace his present company car,  he would have no hesitation in considering one from you and I am happy to tell people of my experiences.

Full marks to Archers for offering an easy way to purchase ford cars over THE INTERNET!  Combined with an excellent price and exceptional service, they didn’t have to try very hard to lure me away from my pathetic local main dealer.
