No. Durashift 5-tronic's electronic controls constantly monitor operating conditions and protect the engine against both under- and over-revving.

What happens if i forget that the transmission is in manual mode and accelerate hard in a low gear?

No problem. The transmission incorporates a kick-down override to help get you out of trouble. This automatically downshifts at speeds below 45mph (70 km/h) to provide brisk acceleration if you forget that the vehicle is in manual mode.

Are there any special servicing requirements?

No. The routine service needs are exactly the same for all Ford Mondeos, regardless of which transmission is fitted.

Will the clutch ever need replacing?
